1. Scope of This Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Design Information Technology (“DIT,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) handles information in connection with TEAMS Mobile Application (the “Application”). The Application is intended for use by cities, counties, states, transportation agencies, consultants, and other authorized organizations to manage traffic-engineering assets and related operational information.
2. Information Entered into the Application
Authorized users may deliberately enter, upload, or update information concerning public infrastructure and agency operations. Depending on the customer's configuration, this information may include:
- Traffic signals, signs, cabinets, controllers, conflict monitors, and related equipment;
- Asset identifiers, descriptions, conditions, locations, inspection records, and maintenance records;
- Traffic counts, signal timings, plans, documents, photographs, and similar operational records; and
- Other information selected and provided by the customer or its authorized users.
This operational information generally concerns public assets rather than the private affairs of an individual. The customer controls the information that its users submit and is responsible for ensuring that submitted information is appropriate and lawful.
3. Personal Information
The Application is not designed to collect personal information for advertising, consumer profiling, or sale. Users should not submit sensitive personal information unless their organization has specifically authorized and lawfully configured the Application for that purpose.
To the extent necessary to operate and secure the Application, limited account or technical information may be processed, such as an authorized user's name, business email address, user ID, login credentials, organization, access permissions, IP address, device or browser information, and security or activity logs. Such information is used only for account administration, authentication, security, support, auditing, and operation of the service.
4. How Information Is Used
Information handled through the Application may be used to:
- Provide, maintain, and support the Application;
- Store, display, organize, update, and report on customer asset information;
- Authenticate authorized users and manage access permissions;
- Protect the security, integrity, and reliability of the Application;
- Diagnose technical problems and respond to support requests; and
- Comply with applicable legal obligations and enforce contractual requirements.
5. Sharing of Information
DIT does not sell personal information and does not share information collected through the Application for third-party advertising.
Information may be made available to the customer organization, its authorized users, and service providers that assist us with hosting, storage, security, communications, maintenance, or support. These providers may process information only as needed to perform services on our behalf and are expected to protect it appropriately.
We may also disclose information when required by law, legal process, or a valid governmental request, or when reasonably necessary to protect the rights, safety, property, or security of DIT, our customers, users, or others.
6. Data Ownership and Customer Control
As between DIT and the customer, data submitted by or for the customer remains under the customer's control, subject to the applicable software license, subscription agreement, hosting agreement, or other contract. Access, correction, export, retention, and deletion requests concerning customer data should generally be directed first to the organization that provided the user's account.
7. Data Retention and Deletion
Information is retained for as long as reasonably necessary to provide the Application, satisfy the customer's instructions and contractual requirements, maintain security and audit records, resolve disputes, and comply with legal obligations. When authorized by the customer and permitted by applicable law and contract, information may be deleted or returned upon request.
Users who wish to request deletion of an account or associated information should contact their organization's Application administrator or contact DIT using the information below. We may need to verify the request and the requester's authority before taking action.
8. Security
DIT uses reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards intended to protect information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, alteration, or disclosure. However, no electronic transmission or storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
9. Children's Privacy
The Application is a professional business and government-agency tool and is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children through the Application.
10. Third-Party Services
The Application may rely on third-party infrastructure or services, such as hosting, mapping, identity, notification, analytics, or crash-reporting services. Any such services must be accurately identified in the Application's Google Play Data safety disclosure when they collect or process user or device data. Their handling of information may also be governed by their own privacy terms.
11. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may revise this Privacy Policy to reflect changes to the Application, our practices, legal requirements, or customer arrangements. The updated policy will be posted on this page with a new effective date. Material changes may also be communicated through the Application or by other appropriate means.
